Update January 2022: Due to family obligations out of state, LC Compost Solutions is unable to accept horses for composting at this time. Smaller animals still accepted (<150 lbs).
If you need to compost a horse, contact Better Roots Composting in Helena at 406-603-0114 or Valley View Landfill at 406-227-6300. You can be assured your horse will be composted and not landfilled. No composted remains returned.

Mortality Composting |
Mortality composting is a sustainable, low-carbon-footprint method for disposing of carcasses. On the ground surface, the animal mortalities are entombed in beds of wood chips and through active biological processes, reduced back to dirt.
